🥾 The AllTrails top 10 — go / modify / skip

Each popular route checked against the closures above
Trail (AllTrails) Verdict Why
East Canyon → Lower Falls Loop (5.8 km) ✅ Go All three legs open; rough patch on the connector near the falls
East Canyon Trail (8.7 km) ✅ Go Open with caution — erosion at km 1.5, debris near creek crossings
Half Moon Beach via East Canyon (20.1 km) ✅ Go Whole east-side corridor is open/caution; long but flat
Mike Lake Trail via Main Horse Corral (10.6 km) ✅ Go Mike Lake Trail + Loop are open/good; just don't extend onto Alouette Valley Trail (landslide at km 5)
Alder Flats via East Canyon (11.7 km) ⚠️ Go, carefully This IS the official detour — cross the Gold Creek bridge, join upper West Canyon. Do not descend West Canyon toward its lot
Lower Gold Creek Falls Trail (5.3 km loop) ⚠️ Modify AllTrails routes it clockwise via West Canyon — that end is closed. Do the falls via Lower Falls Trail or the East Canyon loop instead
East Canyon & Upper Falls Loop (6.6 km) ⚠️ Modify Fine as an out-and-back to Upper Falls on East Canyon; don't loop back down the West Canyon side
Upper Gold Creek Falls Loop (10.9 km) ❌ Skip The West+East loop is broken: West Canyon closed at the bottom, Evans Creek footbridge unusable
Evans Peak Trail (9.5 km) ❌ Skip Its approach is the closed bottom section of West Canyon Trail, right through the Evans Creek debris field
Golden Ears Summit Trail (23.3 km) ❌ Skip Partially closed, unassessed since the atmospheric river, snow up high — not this trip
Your North Beach walk isn't on AllTrails' top-10 list, but it's the same trailhead as the ✅ routes — pair it with the East Canyon → Lower Falls loop if you want more than a beach stroll.

What this means for your Tuesday

✅ Your side of the park is fine: North Beach and Lower Falls (both from your lot) are fully open; East Canyon is open with minor erosion at km 1.5
🚫 Closed outright: Viking Viewpoint, Scouts Bay (sinkhole), Alouette Mt. Trail, West Canyon Trail at the West Canyon lot end
✅ Want a longer day? Continue up East Canyon to Viewpoint Beach (4.5 km) — open with caution
🚫 Don't plan around West Canyon: everything from that lot (Hikers Beach, Alder Flats, Golden Ears summit) is only reachable the long way via East Canyon — it's no longer a useful parking fallback for trails
⚠️ Watch for: bears actively feeding parkwide — carry spray, make noise
